Dr. Shirley A. Harris graduated from Case Western University in 1987 with an M.D. degree. In 1994 she earned her Fellowship in Gastroenterology from MetroHealth Medical Center in Cleveland Ohio. She has practiced in the Atlanta area since 1996 and is board certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine and the American Board of Internal Medicine, Gastroenterology. She is a highly skilled endoscopist and specializes in the ERCP ( Endoscopic Retrograde Cholangiopancreatography) procedure. In 2005 she started her own practice, Gastroenterology Specialists of Dekalb and is affiliated with the Dekalb Medical hospital system. |

Joanne Beer has been a PA since 1998 and has been working with Dr Harris in Gastroenterology since 1999. She received her bachelor’s degree from Oberlin College in Ohio and a Masters in Public Health from Boston University and worked in epidemiology for a number of years before returning to school to complete a Masters in Physician Assistant Studies from Chatham University in Pittsburgh, PA. Joanne is currently working with Gastroenterology Specialists of DeKalb part time and is enjoying raising her two children, Marcus and Jordan. |
